Using a collaborative, trauma-informed approach, our Clinician and Case Management team assesses people's complex situations, develops a personalized, coordinated plan of care; administers, monitors and evaluates the plan; and advocates on behalf of the people in our care. Together with our partners, we help people to be safer, achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Our free, confidential and voluntary community mediation service helps you change the way you communicate during conflict and provides a collaborative approach to conflict resolution. Since 1985, we’ve handled more than 6,000 cases and helped participants come to an agreement 80% of the time.

Want to practice your English? Our Conversation Circles are a great choice! You'll have fun and make new friends while talking about sports, family, food, movies, or anything you like, and learning about employment, health care, schools and your community. 

For people who are homeless and struggling with substance use, the need for basic services has never been greater. Our services use a trauma-informed approach to provide life-saving support, including overdose prevention, harm reduction, nutritious meals, and crisis counselling. By offering low-barrier services, we encourage access to essential long-term care, like referrals to health care providers, housing services and support groups.

Easy Access Voicemail provides a low-cost voicemail service to people in our community. Having voicemail is an important step to get housing, a job and to stay connected.

Community Legal Services clinic is committed to help people living on low incomes resolve issues with tenant rights, immigration and refugee status, income security (CPP, OAS, ODSP & OW) and domestic violence.

Coming to a new country is always an adjustment. What helps is learning and improving your language skills. Our LINC English Classes help you improve your writing, reading and speaking. We offer a variety of beginner and advanced classes for adults, including classes in the morning, afternoon or evening. 

For seniors and people living with physical or mental disabilities or poor health, shopping for groceries and preparing healthy food is a struggle. Our Meals on Wheels program is there to help. Nutritious meals are prepared by a registered dietician and delivered six days a week with a smile from caring volunteers.

Our modular housing helps people successfully transition from homelessness to a supportive living apartment. Together with COTA Health, we offer residents comprehensive and around-the-clock support on-site, including harm reduction, counseling, assistance with finances, access to healthcare, income support, and help finding work. 

If you’re new to Canada and need help preparing to find a job, try New Steps for Newcomers! We’ll help you find out about different careers, understand how to navigate the Canadian educational, financial, health, social service systems, develop digital and financial literacy, and learn about the Canadian culture and its impact on employment.

Located in Toronto's east-end, the Norm Houghton Complex has two buildings: Our 680 Kingston Road building is for independent seniors, and has support services available. Our 11 Main Street building is home to families, singles and seniors. The buildings are connected with a courtyard that has a playground, seating area and a garden where residents can grow their own vegetables.

Peer workers know the struggle with homelessness and substance use all too well. Their lived experience gives them the insight and emotional awareness to help people who are going through what the peers did. By acting as mentors and advocates, peer workers play a critical role in helping people access the life-saving services they need, while gaining stability in their own lives by improving their skills and getting paid for meaningful work.

If you're a LGBTQ+ refugee or newcomer, Rainbow Connect is the place for you! In this safe and welcoming space, you'll make new friends, enjoy chats and celebrations, and build your networks and skills. You can also volunteer and help other people just like you.

If you're finding it hard to adapt to life in Canada, we're here to help! Whether you need help finding a job, learning about health care, finding good schools,  connecting with community programs, or doing fun activities with new friends, our Settlement Services team is there for you. 

Food insecurity, lack of affordable housing, low-paying jobs, and living below the poverty line are just a few of the problems people in our communities face. Changing the way our society works to fix these issues is exactly what our Social Action program does. Working together with our neighbours, we help people speak out for what's important to them, and to their communities.

When you're older or have physical challenges, getting around the city can be tough. Our door-to-door Transportation Service helps you get to medical, rehabilitation and therapy appointments, as well as to go shopping, meet friends and family, and attend community programs.

The Trustee Hub is an innovative community initiative that supports grassroots groups working to remove systemic barriers faced by underserved populations, such as youth, newcomers and people living in racialized communities. By sharing our experience and expertise as a trustee, we help these organizations achieve their goals, while fulfilling our own mission to improve the lives of the people in our communities, and the communities themselves.

Our Women's Group in downtown east helps newcomer women come together to make new friends and gain valuable support. Together, we've learned about housing, parenting, school, and health care, gender-based violence and racism. You can also enjoy fun activities and holiday celebrations, and join our annual December 6th and International Women’s Day events.

Our Women’s Settlement Program offers a welcoming space to make friends and gain valuable support. You'll learn about applying for schools and healthcare, immigration, self-care, job searches and everything you need to make Canada your new home! We also provide one-to-one counselling for women and families. Whatever you need, our staff are here to help in English, Farsi, Dari, Fashtu and Bengali!
