In April 2023, Kensington-Bellwoods Community Legal Services (KBCLS) merged with The Neighbourhood Group. Funded by Legal Aid Ontario, KBCLS provides free legal assistance to people living on low incomes in the neighbourhoods south of Bloor between Ossington and Yonge. With a focus on Housing and Tenants’ Rights, Income Security Programs, Immigration and Refugee Law, and Workers’ Rights, KBCLS’ mission is to eliminate poverty and ensure equality before the law.
Through the merger, we will improve our services to the community, and be better equipped to address the changing needs of the neighbourhoods we serve by building our sustainability, harmonizing our processes, and strengthening our back-office functions.
