What is a United Way of Greater Toronto Anchor Agency?
Anchor agencies deliver top quality programs and services. For example, our Scarborough-based women's program - one of our many programs and services - brings together women and their families for local gatherings and field trips.
Anchors connect people in the community, just as we did at a recent Seniors Active Living Fair in east end Toronto.
Anchors lead local coalitions to improve our community. For example, We lead a health and mental health planning table of the Toronto South Local Immigration Partnership.
Anchors support resident leadership. For example, our particpants recently spoke out at City of Toronto budget deputations.
Anchors build the capacity of grassroots groups in the community. For example, we operate the Trustee Hub, a program that helps grassroots community groups by lending our financial and administrative expertise and experience.
